Question Whole System Help

I have a '94 f150 reg cab. I've already replaced the factory speakers and deck now i'm looking to add more speakers and maybe a sub behind the seat. I know i need a wedge box, but what else would i need? and how would i hook it up? is there a site that has these answers? Thanks for any info!!!

If you plan on getting a sub, you will want an amp. Providing you have a headunit with RCA preamp outs it's a really easy install, if not you can use a LOC converter still get subs.

You know, depending on what you want out of it, theremay be some simple solutions. The first question would be: What do you listen to?
If you want a bumper, then someone else who is experienced with that type of system will be better qualified to offer you advice; but if you're a rocker (or a roller), you can satisfy your needs with a lot less emphasis on big $ subs.

I initially looked ino them because in a regular cab with bucket seats all the way back and fully reclined you can fit bazooka tubes on the floor behind the seats; you can use a single dual voice coil model, or two single coil models. They come in amplified and non-amplified versions. They may not do for the big bump, but if you don't intend to share your bass with everyone in a two block radius- they can add a real nice bottom to your boogie.

One word of advice: if you do check them out- fight your instincts, and turn them down; once they blend in, you might like what you hear. I experimented more than a little and can tell you that so many things effect their performance (just like any other sub), and they only sounded good when installed per instructions- i.e. placed behind the seat, pointing at the corner about 4 " away from it, and strapped down tight using the two (included)locking straps and holders/tube feet which you screw down into the sheet metal.

If you check them out, let me know what you think; I'm kinda curious what different people think of how they sound.

I'd just get the truck wedge boxes. You could run 10s and not have too much a problem with clerance. You will be able to put your seat most of the way back.

Fry's Electronics just had the 6 1/2" (EL604) Bazooka tube on clearance-type sale for $49.

But since I don't know where you live, the best that I could suggest is:
go to the SAS web sight to look at the Bazooka models; pick a model number you're interested in; do an internet search for that model number; choose one of the "price-grabber" type of links; it will list several internet sources to buy one at, and the prices they charge. It usually comes up with some pretty cheap deals.

Why one sub when you can have 2? I have a '96 f150 reg. cab with JL audio 10W0's in a box I made behind each seat.Running those and my two 6.5 JL spkrs. inthe doors I have a 300/4 amp mounted to one pc. mdf that runs across the back of the cab and makes up the back of the sub boxes. JL 5x7 components in cab corners running off head unit (Alpine 7994) and I bump with the best of 'em.

fishnhomey, are your JL 10w0s loud. I just bought 2 to put in my custom built box for my F250 crew cab. Im powering with RF 350 watt rms amp. Do you think I need more power for these subs, as they are only 125 watts rms?

Mike, I don't think it will benefit you to add power to the subs.I have two channels bridged and am running the subs in mono, which means I have 150 watts going to each sub. They pound pretty well.If you overpower them they will pop on you. They are plenty for a cab of a pick-up truck unless you are competing. It's JL or nuthin' for me.
