I bought a 1967 F100 that I'm trying to fix a few small issues on. One of them is the small light on the dash, far to the left. Left of the ignition. I have a bulb that lights up when I turn the ignition on. But I think there should be some sort of chrome piece that the bulb goes into. I don't even know what this part is called to begin looking. What am I looking for? Kinda hard to look for something I don't know the name of...
Would that light up with ignition on, engine off? I should add, no power brakes on this truck. All manual. The light goes off after truck is started. At least I think it does. I'll have to check.
I found one on Flea-Bay. So I can fix the cosmetic...
Need help on what you call a couple more parts. I don't have that rubber strip and mounting hardware. Also don't have that grommet plugged in either. I'd like to get those, anyone tell me what they are instead of digging through parts fiche online?
the little red light that comes on with ignition? I have the lights with the ring I'll post a pic if I can find em... in Saskatchewan canada ...
have the grommet too and maybe the rubber
I was able to find the brake light piece and install it earlier in the week. I haven't double checked, but I think it only comes on when engine isn't running.
I also found the two items in post 6 from LMC truck. One is "oval plug" 40-1290. The other is "cowl lacing kit" 41-1647. Ordered a few other misc. items I noticed missing as well. And the hood emblem set was faded and pitted, So those were the costly items.
On a side note, previous owner had put in a Hurst Indy floor shifter instead of the column shifter. It was a straight stick model that would hit the seat when in 1st/3rd. So I put a stick that is designed for a bench seat. Fixed that problem. But the cheap Hurst shift boot was tore also. Have a leather version on order from Redline Goods.
Most warning lights should come on be it before you start the motor or just after then go out.
This is a test so you know the light bulb works other wise how would you know there was an issue if the bulb was burnt out?
This is true for any car or truck with warning lights even today's.
