Alter ego
I tried to start but did not kick over the engine in my 06 f350 6.0 and saw both speedometer and rpm gauge needles dance downward. Then the climate control panel and brake assist lights flicker rapidly as well as the cab dome lights. I switched the keys back to off and pulled the key out and saw the needles again dance on the speedometer and rpm gauge. Put the key back in and saw the same thing happen again but no dash light indicators showing the battery, glowplug or brake light. I recently (Aug 2022) took it to the dealer and had the batteries replaced, oil change and had them service my steering box. I have a scantool installed and I noticed that it read Overvoltage. I have not had a chance to dive deep into the cause but my first thought is the alternator. I'll check and see if there are any code that could help in trouble shooting this crazy issue.

I had AAA come out to test both the battery and alternator and the batteries are dead. The alternator was not tested has I have to have a running engine to do that. When I installed the new batteries, the engine started but I noticed the cab dome lights flickering. I'm getting the alternator swapped out soon and I'll update then.
