Ok so today, I undid the bolts holding the aluminum bracket holding up the steering column and changed the ignition box mounted to it.
as per the advice of the membership here…even though I couldn’t find a single thing wrong with the old one.
the ignition switch now springs back from the start to run position like a bomb…thankyou.
just for the record I bought the cheapest one I could find ..$13 bucks Canadian on Amazon ..it only had one review ..but it was good.
and the part looked good quality and fitted as if OEM. Oh and it was made in Taiwan. As opposed to china.
there was a small wavy L shaped wire clip that came with it.
no way could I figure out where it went at all.??? Any ideas folks ?
I also took off the wire from the temperature sender ( not sensor) next to the distributor and grounded it and the gauge moved to the hot position so at this point I’m assuming that the sender is shagged and will order a new one.
another test on the advice of members here .,thanks again.
now if I can just figure out socket size and sender were good…I’m hoping I don’t lose to much coolant upon removal.
anyway thought the members might like feed back..I’ll report back once I get to it .thank you
