The king ranch is going to make it two tone paint or add the chrome package and I would have to get 20" wheels.
I can get the Lariat ultimate with the solid white paint and 18" wheels that I would prefer and I can add the snow plow camper package to the Lariat. Would adding that give me a higher gvwr than the 11900 for the king ranch? What am I going to lose stepping down a trim level? Different interior obviously. Power tailgate? Hud? I'm at 69 for an xlt 75 for the Lariat and 82 for the king ranch. What's the 7000 something getting me? Better software and badges?
I have a 19 Lariat ultimate and absolutely love it. I don't like the KR interior. I didn't want two tone paint or the fender flairs. So I stuck with the Lariat ultimate. The ultimate did say it additionally offered HU display and power running boards. PRB's aren't a favorite of mine either. I put my order in 2 weeks ago and no one dares to estimate how long before I see it. Ford hasn't even pulled the order off the dealers computer yet. I'm thinking this is going to be the new normal.
King Ranch has up quality leather, better cushions and seat frame, more comfortable for wider butts than Lariat seats. You also have the unique trim and wheels. It used to be that the leather was premium grade true hides, but the care for them was beyond most owners and degraded quickly so Ford went to the coated leather instead, but of higher quality. The base KR package has pretty much ALL the options in the Lariat as standard, with the Ultimate package(as of 2022) including the multicontour seats and power running boards. I haven't checked the order guide to see if the Adaptive cruise is standard now, but was part of the Ultimate in 22. Between the two, Platinum and King Ranch, you get the same with the only difference being the styling. Between both those and the Lariat, you are getting upgraded seats compared to Lariat. I found them to not be as comfortable in the Lariat as in the KR and Platinum. There is a difference in the seat cushions.
Which is a better value though? Lariat hands down.
