I have had my 22 F350 CCSB since the second week of October. Unfortunately I couldn't wait the recommended 1000 miles to tow my camper as I had to take it in for a recall. I had about 500 miles on the truck before towing my camper to the dealership about 30 miles away. Ever since setting up the camper in the trailer settings, it has accumulated the mileage even though I haven't been towing it that much. I think right now I should only have about 175 miles of actually towing the camper, but the computer shows I have accumulated over 1500 miles on it. So it is adding the mileage I drive unloaded to the trailer mileage.
Is there something I am doing wrong? Should it only track how many miles I have towed that particular trailer? Am I supposed to change something in the settings after disconnecting the trailer? I have a flat bed utility trailer that I will be towing as well, so I will set that up when I first use it with this truck.
I would think that the owners manual would be by far the best source if you are truly interested in keeping track of how many miles you pull a trailer. Personally, trivia like that doesn't make my radar. I find all the trailer settings and messages annoying...
I have looked in the manual. Maybe I haven't looked in the right frigging section of the manual, but nowhere that I have looked does it show this display in the manual. I've looked in the towing/trailering section and the instrument cluster section.
Sorry if this bit of trivia doesn't make your radar, but some of us would like to keep track of the towing mileage for maintenance purposes.

I once had the idea of tracking mileage on 4 of my 5 trailers, mainly to keep track of miles on the tires. It was such a pain to switch them and/or turn off when not hauling a trailer that I just turned it all off. The messages are very annoying. It's bad enough that I'm told 3 times before I get out of my driveway that the blind spot detection is turned off.
Okay, I guess I'll delete it and then try as Redford said. I don't know why they didn't make it so when you disconnect the trailer plug it defaults to no active trailer.

Thanks for the help
This doesn't really address your issue but one reminder that you still have a trailer selected is that on start-up the driver display will default to the trailer tab. When I first got my 2017 F250 I wondered why that tab was opening instead of the tab that shows the digital speedometer which is what was showing the last time I used the truck. The problem was that I still had my trailer selected. Changing to "NO TRAILER" resolved it.
I agree, seems like you didn't disable your trailer as being active. This is one feature I miss from my F150 XLT as I kept track of how much we traveled, mainly just for my knowledge as most times we go close by home, but my XL doesn't have this.

My truck never defaulted to the trailer tab after disconnecting the trailer. I always disconnect the trailer without the truck running as a safety precaution. I just don't want to have any issues of someone getting into it and putting the truck in reverse while I am standing there disconnecting it. I just don't understand why the computer won't automatically switch to "No Trailer" when it detects that the plug is disconnected. Guess it thinks that I like to drive around with a 34' camper without having any lights or trailer brakes.

Here is you answer. Disconnect while the truck is running and you will never have this problem again

Think about it. Not all trailers have trailer brakes and trailer lights are not on all the time. How would the truck know you have a trailer if no load is detected on the circuit? Ford has to cover all trailers, not just the ones with trailer brakes and guys that always drive with their lights on.
