89 F150 4.9 4 x 4 manual transmission breaking in my cam and now the fuel tanks electric valve decides to quit and my fuel push pump on the rail is not filling my carburetor. So where do you guys recommend the fuel tank selector valve to be sourced from and what style should mine have? Factory dual tanks and I have a pressure regulator upfront along with the return line. My front tank is absolutely chock-full my rear tank apparently doesn’t work but it is at about a half tank now after I put 4 gallons in it. My front tank registers 1/8 tank tops n dash switch but it’s full!
So I think my tank selector valve is bad I can feel my electric fuel pump working but it’s not producing any pressure up top
Oh well hell that’s easy, I’m a dork for not figuring that out.
boy I’d really hate to have to replace both in tank pumps. But I gotta get fuel to run her…. Sigh…. This dang truck lol.
Then since you have the electrical tank valve may have to make sure it is working correct, front tank/rear tank wiring and plumbing. And I have not done one of them but I have seen a few post to do conversion.
Sorry I linked you to the old mechanical reservoir valve.
The 87 I done back in spring had this dual function reservoir mounted in frame under drivers seat just before high pressure fuel pump.

I had to put new rear tank, pump sender assy on truck it had been parked 14 years. The high pressure pump was frozen up also so had to replace that pump after bench testing to make sure it was bad.
Well the pump in frame rail sounds as it running and it will not make pressure at injector rail if no gas is making it to the pump and up thru filter from the in tank pumps.
The pump in frame rail should be MOTORCRAFT PF4 about 250$ but I would confirm my other pumps are working and fuel is making it to the HP pump before purchasing.
That makes perfect sense, I’ll remove the pressure pump this morning and bench test it, and I’ll find a way to do a test on the selector valve as well.
making coffee and sitting down to do some wiring diagram searching here in a couple minutes.
