overhead running light strobes
Does anyone know if I can change the bulbs in my overhead lights and get a strobe unit to fire them. I'm thinkin this would be neat for plowing....and easy..

The insert strobes that I have on my truck, require a 1" hole drilled into the light housing. There is not enough room in the cab lights for these without gutting the lights themselves. Also, I don't believe there is enough airspace to keep the stobe bulbs from melting the lenses. If you want something different, try hooking a directional controller for an Arrow Stik. Also, could try hooking up a Federal Electronics 7-11 flasher which could alternate the left, center, and right bulbs with the 2 inner bulbs. Either of these can be picked up from a local emergency equipment dealer, or from www.galls.com.

You could built an electronic flasher circuit. I think I have one on the top of my head. You would have to find the wire(s) that feed the over heads and wire in a switch and circuit so they could be steady or strobing. That sounds really cool!!! That would look way cool for plowing or what ever and would be hidden. Now I wish I had cab marker lights.
