Features not available to order at Job 1. Content will be available
to order when Job 2 order bank opens in February 2023. Dealers
should assign Priority Code 99 to orders for customers who
would like to wait for Job 2 content:
From what I have read on this forum, you can "order" J2 now. Ford won't pick up the order until February '23 but some are concerned that the order banks for 2023 will get filled up sooner rather than later and want their J2 configuration in the system now before allocations get used up.
I ordered loaded King Ranch sat 28th and got ford confirmation Tues. the order was accepted and would be back to me within 45 days with update. Mine has priority 12. I think a lot of dealers are taking orders and playing games on priority. Giving the highest profit orders top priority. I have bought several vehicles from my dealer.
Order it now, and as long as it is the higher trims, KR, Platinum, or Limited, they will get built when Job2 starts. If it needs to be delayed due to a constraint item that wont happen until Job 2 for the lower trims, the dealer would need to give it a 99 priority and then re-prioritize it when Job2 begins.
I ordered a platinum Monday and it won’t be built until Job 2. Goes srnt me a confirmation letter. I was told not to change my model ( F350 SRW longbed platinum ). But could change a few of the option in February as we see how job 2 comes online. Ie I have no idea about ordering weight/scale as there is no pricing on that new option I might pay $300 for that option. But I don’t think it’s worth $2000
You can order King Ranch, Platinum or Limited now. It will not be considered for production until they start scheduling Job #2. There is no firm dates of when they will start to consider a Job #2 build, and then no firm dates when Job #2 builds will actually happen. When scheduling does start to happen for Job #2, your dealer must have allocation available and constraints will always be considered. And being scheduled for production dates are different than the actual build dates. They might start selecting in FEB as they understand what parts they will have, for maybe May builds. But noone knows. FORD works in mysterious ways.
As you put in your order, if you order a normal build (without the Job #2 options that are not in the computer right now), you are assigned a priority for the dealership (retail 10-19) as normal. But if you want the Job #2 options not in the computer right now, then you need the dealer to code it priority 99 which will not be built until it changes. Then when the Job #2 options are put into the system, then you change the options, and the dealer puts in a new priority code which now allows it to be looked at for production. The trim level cannot change when changing options or it becomes a new order.
If you order with a normal priority code but want the job #2 options, you could be scheduled for build without the job #2 options, before you have a chance to change the order. But you could do it that way and if you get scheduled, you get a high trim truck (just not with those new job #2 options). It also might help you get price protected but not sure about that.
Lots to consider and hard to understand. Good Luck.
