Sync 4 navigation

Didn't realize my subscription ran out on my 22 f450 this past weekend so I have no navigation on a $90,000 truck last 4 trucks did not need subscription
Called customer service and complained
Looks like new 2023 trucks will get 3yrs free
22 not so much
Maybe enough people complain they will match
Disappointed

My 2016 had 5 years. But the navigation still works, what doesnt work is the real time traffic, notices for construction, accidents, etc that navigate would calculate around. I mostly use WAZE through my phone anyway

That's probably why the 2023's get 3 years free - people complained that it ran out too soon on the 2022's.

That said, with how good the map in your phone is, the subscription maps aren't really necessary.

I WILL miss having an on-board navigation system, though, like my Ram has and my wife's F150 have. Even if they aren't the greatest, they're still on-board and I don't need internet/cell service to use them.

2022's got 3 years too, but only on the Platinum and Limited trims. I believe they also came with both connected and built in navigation, so when the subscription runs out the built in navigation still works.

It looks like for 2023, Lariat and up will come with connected plus built in navigation and the 3 year trial.

I've never met a vehicle nav system that I like using in any brand. Google maps on my phone is much quicker and easier for a numpty like me. I get that higher level trims have it standard but I will never pay the ridiculous upgrade cost as opposed to the free one that works flawlessly on my phone. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the subscription.

I agree, I happen to like the Waze app, I've used it in other countries like Scotland and Korea as well.

My King Ranch is loaded with alot of options should of got 5yr for what I paid
I do agree the ford nav system is below average it sometimes will not connect to satellite thank God for Google map's and waze
Just pisses me off that it doesn't work on a high end truck
My wife's 21 escape titanium has lot's of problems with her nav system
Alot of full-time rv people use Garmin
I'm not paying $80 a yr subscription for something that should be included

So there’s no more “non-connected” nav like with Sync3? If so, that’s some OnStar level ****.

There is, but for 2022 and with Sync 4 that required Platinum or Limited trim. 2023 will now include that with Lariat and higher trims. It's connected until the subscription runs out, or you decide not to pay, then it uses the embedded (non-connected) navigation.

Yep, welcome to the future! Before long those massaging seats, heated steering wheels, remote start and electric tailgates (among many others) will be a monthly/annual subscription too! Exciting times!!

And yeah… the factory nav’s are useless. Plenty of other, much better options. Definitely don’t pay for those!
