We’ll, beware frontier ford in Santa Clara, ca. they listed a f250 on cargurus and their website for a lower than Msrp price. I submitted an inquiry and they called. They pulled up the truck and said ok at x price. I said I would purchase it at your advertised price. They asked where I saw that price and I told him. The line went dead a few seconds later and now the car gurus ad is gone. I have screenshots, but I shouldn’t need to… dishonest is dishonest, period. If it’s an error, just say so. Car dealers…ugh.
I guess I’m not seeing any dishonesty here yet. So a salesman made a mistake and advertised the wrong price, probably a typo, your lucky day and you found it and they agreed to sell it at that price.
In the mean time they pulled the mistaken price down just in case you decided the truck was not for you and you walked.
What is wrong with that. I would say they went above and beyond by actually honoring the mistaken price post.

I guess I don't understand.
Did they, or did they not agree to X-Plan price on the truck???
X-plan is barely over invoice, well below MSRP, but you wanted to pay the advertised price, which couldn't have been as low as X-Plan.
And, then you got cut off, but did you call back???
Hi, no x plan. I’m not a ford employee or family member. I simply found the ad on car gurus and then confirmed the same price on their website. The concern and cause for the warning is that as soon as they tuned into their advertised price on the websites, the call disconnected and they didn’t call back. I called and they didn’t answer.
if a pricing error, I expect an reasonably honest run business to be transparent and say so. Not hang up on the person who called trying to pretend it didn’t happen. Whether it’s really bait and switch or not will depend on a conversation with their management today.
Well I certainly misinterpreted your first post; for whatever reason I took your line going dead as being put on a long hold; nope, they straight-up ended the call. I'm thinking someone screwed the pooch and it was easier to dismiss you than to apologize, that's unfortunate.

Ok sorry I missed the part where they hung up on you. I took it as the salesman was silent for a few seconds while he looked up the add you had found.
Most third party websites, cargurus, autotrader, etc have a disclaimer that the site is hosted by a third party and they're not responsible for pricing errors. I'm sure that's what happened here. It was a bit shady to hang up on you but worse things happen to people daily. Maybe they really got disconnected from you for one reason or another possibly, I mean **** does happen occasionally. If everyone made a post like this every time they were upset about a dealer this site would be littered with posts like this.
