What are you crewcab guys doing for carpet? It's time to start thinking about getting Romeo done. I'd like plain black carpet front and back. I know I can always go to my local custom upholsterer but I thought I'd defer to those that have already been there.
Rab I got mine through MAC's for 100 bucks for the 2 pieces front and rear, both are molded perfect to the floor even the steps in the rear doorways and up over the hump in the rear where the gas tank sits. It is black look pile I belive with insulation backing it. I am really happy with mine let me know if you want some pics. The part # is 5772-truckcarpet. Mac's # is 716-433-1500. I belive they order them from Auto Custom Carpets but the guy at macs was really nice and helpful and they gave me a good price.
460crew. I got carpet from Mac's about a year ago for my 64 custom 2dr post(galaxy). Although the fit was ok after some trimming, I was really displeased with the quality of the carpet, and the padding was very thin and just a small square where your feet go. They even had the rear pads on the wrong area and it ended up under the seat with none in the footwell area. Then to top that all off the sun faded it all out and now it is all blotchy and discolored. Also when I ordered it they said they had it in stock, then after a lengthy delay they started blaming their supplier for delayed shipments. Then when questioned about it they told me they never keep it in stock and it must have been some ill informed new sales person that told me that. The "on sale" carpet wasn't much of a bargain after all.
Wow you might have just gotten the rotten apple for a deal? Mine was almost a perfect fit with a little trimmming here and there but the mold was perfect carpet is a good quality and I was suprised how much extra padding is under it and was almost too thick to fit right. the only extra piece of insulation that I added was under the front seat. Mabey they are chincy with the car stuff but I was pleased with my crewcab carpet, also they were the only company to supply it. I actually went through the same ordering crap you did with another company and waited about a month and no carpet. So I called and they said (same guy) we don't cary the crewcab carpet somebody must have looked it up and quoted u wrong. Got my money back and found this one. Sucks when you buy something and it's not what u expected! But all in all mines been in a year with me rumagging through it working on the cab and in the sun and no problems yet.
Patrick, I would like to see the pictures of the carpet and while your at post some pics of the truck as well. I want to see how it's coming along! Do you have an web address for MAC's?
Rab i'll send u some carpet pics but updated pics will have to wait till this weekend I need to get some more batteries and I have a 78 f250 with D60's front and rear with the rear having a limited slip! Also it came with lifted leaf springs. All a kick butt deal! FREE. So i'm kinda busy with the short daylight and stripping the parts but pics will be in the gallery soon.
