I have an amazing 1968 - 70 , not sure, Cheverlot steering wheel. Is it easy to find an adapter to fit my 71 column shift ? Will it look natural......sotra...ha
Those were nice wheels. But I don't think you'll find any off-the-shelf adapters for that combo. I've been wrong about parts availability before, being guilty of not having looked, but I can say at least that I've never seen one.
Are the splined shaft and wheel hole a match? Is the "bell" diameter a match? Horn contacts would probably be different, but I don't know by how much.
Does your Ford have a horn relay? I think your year and model "should" have one, but I know at least in later '70's models the relay depended on other options like speed-control and such. My '79 did not have one, but most others I've worked on of your vintage did. I believe the GM trucks did too, so that might be in your favor.
But for the edification of the rest of us, do you happen to have both wheels handy that you could take a picture of their backsides? I'd like to see how they vary or are similar. What about the diameter overall?
