I recently acquired a early 1940’s pickup from my dad that I am planning on doing some work to. I’m going to get the title for it and I have located the VIN on the front driver side frame rail and it reads “IGC-7297”. I’m going to clean up the area around it some more but for now I was wanting more clarification on the year. If it is in fact a 1941 why does it have a ‘42-‘47 grille? Is it due to it being a late 1941? Just curious.
thanks
Sorry here is the vin and a picture of the truck. More backstory on it is at some point someone pulled the original 6cyl and installed a 6cyl from a 1965 ford falcon
1 doesn't always mean '41 model year in the serial number. 1GC means 6 cylinder 1/2 ton truck. The numbers after help narrow down the year.
For instance, my '46 6 cylinder starts 1GC.
