Sport mode ???

Have my truck for 3 1/2 years. Did not know it has a sport mode. I just went out and tried it and it works.

"SPORT" mode on a heavy duty Superduty truck is just plain silly in my opinion.

Kind of like "Tow" mode on a Prius.

It leaves me with 3 questions:

1. What does it do? What changes in the performance of the truck?
2. What can I do with it?
3. Why is his "Check Engine" light on, and should I take advice from a guy who's check engine light is stuck on?

It changes the throttle mapping and shift strategy. It's like having a pedal commander.

That's what it does on the 150's and every other vehicle with sport mode. It doesn't add any power.

From the manual, 4th row shows what so called "sport mode" does.

On other vehicles it may be different. A friend of mine has a BMW and in Sport she says it's a pretty extreme difference. The Super Duty, not so much.

sport mode is not the 4th column.

to get sport mode you double select the advance track button.

the 4th colum is advance track

whst does sport mode do? Don’t know…will drive it tomorrow morning

i just went out to the truck to see if double selecting advance track will give me sport mode and it does.

Did I not say 4th row? You are double pressing the traction control button (you call it advance track) as it says in the 4th row, are you not?

Youll have to read the notes (1 and 2) as well to see what it is actually doing. If you are so inclined you can also do a forum search wich should turn up at least half a dozen threads.

(I apologize if "row" was incorrect terminology. Line 4?)

Does nothing but change traction control. I have owned many performance vehicles where it does change things but not on this truck. Previous F150 (mostly drove in sport mode because of the increased throttle response) and really did on my hellcat 6M it changed throttle response, suspension stiffness, traction control, active exhaust, and steering sensitivity. Was very noticeable. My F250 does none of that, additionally with the torque management with the 6.7 no change, zero.

On my 7.3, I don’t think it skips gears in sport mode, and it shifts differently. I think I like playing with the sand/snow mode more than sport mode. I don’t know what all changes, but it’s definitely different from normal.

As said, sport mode is a traction control/stability setting. It allows a bit more fun before the computer slows your truck down!
