VIN location

Hello friends.

I have 2001 F150 4.6 and I need VIN location on the frame.
Here we have some problem with authority, they cannot find it, and doesn't accept number on the door sticker. They want to stamp new one.
Please to send me some direction possibly with some photos.

Sounds like he means there never was one. Maybe he will explain more.

Doesn't your truck have one in the windshield, driver side, lower corner?

VIN might be on the frame rail, a cross member in the rear, maybe a few other places as they started doing that at some point.

here, autorities check VIN on the frame every year when we make insurance and technical inspection of the vehicles. So this year probaly they cannot find it (not too much vehicles of that type here) and I must to show them...or they will punch new one.
If someone of you can show me where on the rail it should be, will make my life easy.

Thanks

the truck does not have one on the frame, I don’t understand why that’s too hard to understand - so make your life easy and let them stamp the frame because there is no vin on the frame

I can’t explain it any easier, the truck never had a VIN on the frame so there isn’t one there from the factory

the OP needs to let his authorities stamp the frame and stop wasting time

They told us in school there are vins they want you to see and vins they don't
You do something stupid like OK city and they will find a vin on a little chunk of that frame or rear end
We used to see them all over when replacing parts
Back by the rear fuel tank on the rear cross members is a most likely place for some frame numbers
You need to be looking at a pretty damn new frame as they were stamped light

so once again, filling the OP’s head with hopes and dreams

Full of dreams? Why is that?
You going to sand your frame looking for numbers? No? Me either
If its the county that is making waves for him, let them figure it out
His is not the only truck in town with an unreadable frame vin or none at all
So what difference does that make? There are a few trucks out there with new frames and you can stamp them if you want
I have a built Banshee with a new frame and no numbers. NO big deal
Take the rear tank out and look for all I care, but I sure would not
Get someone else involved if it is a registration issue
