I looked for hours under my 94 IDI for that connector and never found it. I have a PSOM-config connector and a single wire gray connector that connects to something else.
Looks like I may have misspoke a bit. The wire that you ground is part of C159. One side goes to power, the other is the one going to the RABS control module. The wire connected to the RABS module is what gets grounded after disconnecting C159.
Here is another diagram from Ford on the location of C159:
i was not able to the abs light to turn back on. it keeps turning on and off, and always happens to turn off when im going to test it. i think i found the problem, the abs pump relay in the engine fuse box is gone, completely missing so that is probably what it is.
Your truck has Rear Anti-Lock Brakes (RABS). The Bronco has 4 Wheel ABS which uses that relay. Yours does not. Since your truck uses RABS II there is a store function so you really need to pull the codes.
Good to know thanks for the help. Also does rabs matter much? I don’t really want to spend money to replace ****.
its extremely helpful when it works right, but its also prone to issues from neglect, bad brake fluid quality, air in the system, people playing withh the wiring etc.
I would say find your codes definition, and then go from there. For example, if the brake switch isnt making a good connection at startup, the abs light will come on. an issue with the speed sensor to the RABS module can also turn it on. I , personally, ended up disconnecting my RABS module to turn the light off. Anytime I tried for a code I got a code 16. But my rear brakes are less than ideal, the fluid is nasty. So I figure I will have to address all that anyway.
As previously stated some are not fans of the RABS system. I have found it does work for me so I have kept the system intact on the various OBS trucks I have owned. Before worrying about cost, pull the codes.
Tried pulling the codes for over an hour last night, would not work. I separated the connecter and grounded the oranges/black wire. The jumper cables would not fit so I used a wire. Could that be why is was not working?
