Glass setting tape ?

I purchased the setting tape from DC that was for Ford f100.f250 1953 thru 66.
It is a 1/16" thick but doesn't seem tight enough for main door glass.

I used a little trial and error to get the best width for a strip of cork and when I determined that, I put the cork in and them some RTV and shoved the glass in. there were plenty of witness marks to tell where the glass went in my case. after I had the glass in place, I wiped off the excess RTV.

Being the clean freak I am, I clean the crap out of the glass before I thought about marking anything.
