I have a 93 F150 with a 5.0 engine. Its has pinged since day one. Tried different fuels, nothing. I saw a service report that suggested changing distributor. Changed dist, and module but to no avail. Any suggestions?

Mine used to do this also until the No. 8 rod bearing gave up at 64,000 miles. It seems that a problem with the 87-95 5.0L PCV suction from the No. 8 cylinder causes this syptom and may cause failure under load. After a new crank and No. 8 piston and pcv suction modification, its fine.
So what is the PCV vacuum mod? I have 900mi. on my 95 302HO I just installed in a 85 F150 and I'd like to get more than 60K from it. All I have is 1 line from the bottom of the AFB going to the PCV valve, and I'm not sure if it's all I need.
