'93 4.0L pinging

I just changed the plugs in my '93 Aero* 4.0L and now its pinging worse than before I changed them. Can someone tell me what the correct (or best) plug and heat range I should be using?

not sure how many miles you have. but you might also want to change the wires too. or use a higher grade of gas.

as the temp here in FL goes up, i have to start using at least 89 octane or i will get pinging, especially on the hwy.

Check your MAF sensor for contamination. Make sure screen in clear and clean. Also you can remove the 2 tamper-proof torx screws and clean off the two sensor wires of the MAF sensor.

Hey all!!!...I think I discovered the solution to my pinging problem. I replaced the plugs with what the parts store guy said were the right ones,AC Delco R44LTS. He says that what the book says.Well I checked my old plugs and they were Motorcraft 42's. I went and bought some new AC's,this time,R42LTS and,voila!!!...no more pinging.The book is WRONG!!! 2 heat ranges down cured my pinging. Just thought someone might benefit from my experience.
