I have an intermittent problem that that has only occurred when pulling my 5W. The truck is a stock 2015 F350 6.7 with 140K and as I come down a interstate ramp and accelerate hard to merge it will go into limp mode. It has only done this on occasion and always pulling my 5W. What do I look for I have no idea what is causing this. The trucks well maintained, I use Rotella T-6, oil, fuel, & air filters are changed every oil change.
Cleared so I could get off the ramp, I didn't look. Is there away to retrieve them, I have the Forscan but have not used it yet.
If you cleared them, no. You likely have to wait until it happens again. Keep some form of reader with you. You need to know what the truck thinks is wrong.
Because i was blocking the on ramp to an interstate in Albuquerque, if I had been in a safe place and had time to write I would have. WWR I was afraid that was the answer, thanks. It so intermittent it could be months before it occurs again, it's always been towing and under hard acceleration to merge onto an interstate.
Without error codes any advice is just a guess. I'd hate to see you spend money based on speculation.
There have been reports of vehicles like yours that went into limp mode during a high power demand/heavy tow situation, but the event only occurred once, the owners never saw a repeat. Those error codes were related to an overboost condition.
OP you can try periodically checking pending codes but given the nature of your problem I find it doubtful anything will register as pending. Still, worth a shot and won't cost anything but a couple minutes of your time -- just don't get your hopes up

Thanks over boost maybe the issue, not sure how it can over boost on occasion but it has always been in the high boost when it's happened. I'll try and get a code next time as long as I'm not on an interstate on ramp. Appreciate all the reply's - Edd.
