Yes, we did. That coil plug (it does look the same) came with a pigtail, and we made sure to leave ample wiring so as not to let what you just described happen here.
Interesting to note - this is the second time a connector has come de-pinned and caused an issue. First it was the alternator, now the coil plug!
is your truck using a 93 or older alternator(if its 93 or older, then that would be expected)
They improved the alt wiring slightly depending on the engine and they also had issues with the alt plug for 2g alternators. my 3g alternator was stock and the harness on my alt is a 1996 model year only harness, so I imagine the 94-95 harness(Which was the same exact setup, alternator, engine) has some QOL improvements. Its a common connector. On my alt, the stator wire connector broke off the terminal so I have the terminal pushed on the tab but nothing proper to retain it.

The truck's an '88 but it's got the 3G swap off a '96 Bronco, so it is like yours. I believe this one had the same issue with the stator wire being broken, anyway it fell off one day and my brother drove it around without the alternator charging until he killed the battery on the side of the road
That was a fun one to diagnose and work on in the pouring rain, at midnight!
