1997 f150 trailer connection/wrong
1997 f150 trailer connection/wrong
Just found out that my left turn signal wire(yellow) is showing "hot" all of the time at the trailer connector plug and it tests hot at the first wire connection....so it appears hot all the way thru.
The truck lights work correctly it's just trailer lights do not work correctly. My understanding is that the only wire that should be hot all of the time is the "+" wire or battery wire at the trailer connector.
Any ideas as to why the yellow (left) signal wire would show hot all of the time?
Thanks,

Does it show hot all the time with all the lights off on the truck, or does it show hot all the time only with the running lights on? And does it show hot all the time with the trailer unplugged?
with the truck off and just sitting there the left and right turn WERE hot. I say were because it took me $170 dallors at the local ford dealership to find out it was the left and right hand relays that were stuck.
Part number f57b-14b192-aa.
So use this info just in case the turn signal terminals at the trailer connection shows hot all the time.
