on my 76 Ford F100 it has duel tanks, and i guess its the selector valve that allows me to switch tanks, well on my truck its not switching and the parts stores don't have the selector and the dealer can't get, does anyone know where i might find one and what exactly it is called?
You can order the 3 port selector valve from napa, and the 6-port from advance auto. To the their respective websites for prices, but i believe its 44 and 57$.
After 5-10 years the dealers quit stocking many components. Some components are used by later models so they are still stocked. Most dealers do not even have the machines to read the films that the parts books are on. All of the new stuff is on computer so as those old machines break down or they need the room they are discarded.
Aftermarket suppliers start making many of the faster moving components for these trucks but even they quit making the parts eventually. The only source of some of the parts are the salvage yards and a few $pecialty $uppliers.
