So I've changed my search now to 17+ to get the 10 speed.
I'm searching Cars.com and Autotrader.com and so many of the trucks I'm finding are from Canada. Like the majority of them. I'm surprised by this. I did some searching and there was some debate about whether or not buying one from Canada is a bad idea.
Couple things I saw was Sirius radio not working 100% and whether any warranty/recall items would be taken care of.
Depending on response I get here, I might end up starting a new thread.
if you are here in the states, I would stick to buying in the states for the warranties/support. As for year, id go 18 plus for the 10spd. Normally avoid first year of new parts personally. Ill say it again like I did above, 2nd gen 3.5 eco coupled with the 10spd is night and day better in way of all around performance. You will be happier for sure
Quick reply say's: sirius radio is a sattelite /internal problem with any particular unit (can happen)....As for warranty you should have no problems...I've got /had no problems in previous years getting my canadian truck warranty/serviced in the USA.....

Yeah I guess as I scroll through the results, I tend to bypass the 17s because of the older body style (although I think I like it better).
From what I've read, warranty is fine on Canadian trucks. Quite a few threads I found on the topic. I would prefer to stay with one from the US, but they are hard to find. I'm not in a huge hurry so I can keep looking. I'm not going to do anything until the Super Duty orders open anyways. I've got to at least see what is going to happen to my 22 order and how much more a 23 would cost.
Go with the the 2018. I had a 2012 and a 2015 3.5 Eco was quite happy with both of them. If you only pull a couple times a year and short distance get the F150.

I'm not sure on this, but there has been some debate about whether or not Canadian trucks have any warranty on them. That is probably why they are priced better than trucks originally sold in the US.

My current 2019 Lariat 5.0 and prior 2016 5.0 were both from Canada. Never had an issue with warranty and TSB's sold 2016 with 115,000 on it, and current 2019 has 109,000 on it. its out of an extended warranty now. Never had an issue with Sirius XM on either truck as well. Would buy another from Canada if needed

Having towed a jayco 284bh with a 2018 F-150 3.5 with the 157 wb, it's a perfect truck for the type of towing you describe. For the 15 or so times I tow per year. I've never had any issues with stability, braking, or power.
The trailer has a gross weight of 7500 and I would imagine when we head out towing as a family of four we're probably pretty close if not right at 7500 and there are no issues whatsoever. At that weight It would not be a difficult argument to make that a super duty would be a better option, but again, If you just tow once in a while and not across the country the F-150 will not give you any issues. When you're not towing you'll probably get 20 miles to the gallon which is lovely with that 36 gallon tank.

Thanks for that info! Just reinforces my decision to go with the 150. Finding one with everything I want is another story. lol
Max Tow is a stand alone option and is not included with any trim level. There aren’t many equipped with that package. Most dealers ordered standard tow packages, so it’s tough to find a used one.
Thanks. I've yet to find a Platinum with Max Tow listed as an option so was hopeful it was included. Finding a max tow with the options I'm looking for is proving to be quite difficult.
I've pretty much resorted to looking at Carfax primarily. It is nice because it says whether it is the 2.7 or 3.5 on the main page, whereas Cars or Autotrader you have to click the ad to tell. Plus, pretty much all of them on Carfax have the link to the window sticker.
I did also find a website from a google search where you can add the vin at the end of the address and it will pull the window sticker.
18+, under $45K, under 45k miles, max tow, sunroof, and 360 cam is a unicorn. Out of 90 results on carfax, after filtering as far as I can, there's 1 that meets all of those options and it's 500 miles away. The joys of buying a used truck lol
