I'm thinking about going to a 17" wheel to update the look of the truck and to take advantage of the vast offering of new tires. I am currently running 33x10.50 BFG A/T tires on the factory chrome 15" wheels. I'd like to run a 245/75r17 or 255/75r17 on a 17"x8" wheel.
I'd like to see what some of y'all who have upgraded to 17" wheels are running.
Looks far better with what is on it than almost any aftermarket 17 inch wheel, but there are a few 16x8 inch wheels that look decent like the Mickey Thompson Classic II. There is only 1 17 inch wheel I would ever go with and that is the first generation Lightning wheels. Can't go wrong with just finding some factory 15 inch Alcoas. Since these trucks have reached the 25 year old mark and are thought of as classics now, they are much more desirable in stock form or at least with a period look.
17" are nice for tire availability, but your factory steel wheels look great on your truck. I would prefer your current setup over a factory aluminum wheel.
