] Illegal without your permission. However, on my 22 F450 I did see an option to enable insurance integration. Some insurance companies base rates if you opt to on driving habits. I think progressive has that option. It was in the advanced settings, may want to make sure that's not turned on.
Problem is, you give your permission by using the app. It is contained in the long, long terms and conditions that virtually no one reads. Most just check the "agree" box and move on.
As you commented, some apps give you the ability to opt out of certain things after signing up.
Your insurance company also tracks your vehicle through the app. I have my milage set lower on my insurance because I don’t drive the truck much. I had to take a sudden 5,500 mile trip at the end of June and I just received an increase in my insurance for going over my estimated milage. I don’t report my milage and have not taken my truck into a dealership so FordPass is the only way this milage would be documented. I have State Farm.
Mine works well. Sure it's not as fast as hitting the key fob, but if I was close enough to do that then I could just hit the key fob. And I'm pretty sure my insurance company doesn't have any of my driving history from FP... but I am pretty friendly with my insurance folks. I will have to ask them next time I am there...
I'm pretty happy with FordPass. I especially like knowing my truck is still where I left it. Remote start on a cold morning is sweet.
As to insurance companies, this past Sunday after church my wife and I took another Deacon and his wife out to lunch. He's always wanted to ride in/check out the big red truck. We came across an empty stretch of rural state highway and went from zero to 80 MPH in not too many seconds. I wonder if FordPass is going to rat me out over that?
So which insurance company do you have? Ford does not who my insurance company is. Ford insurance is the only one using the information
But if you want cut the cell antenna ,

Ford does not need to know what company provides your insurance. If Ford makes the data available to a database (think CarFax, etc.), any insurance company with access can just search the database for the VINs of vehicles they are insuring.
I still don't have points from my 2022 F350 purchase. I called customer service and they pushed some buttons and said the points would show up within 48 hours... that was 3 weeks ago.
I had to go in the pass myself and do it. There should be something in the points section that asks for a vin and purchase date. Less then a day later the points were there
As far as the starting/locking delay goes, I'm going to take a guess that this depends on the cell service Ford uses to communicate with your truck. So for Fordpass to send a signal through your phones cell network on your prefered carrier, link to the Ford servers, and have it routed back through the cell service they use with the appropriate command, is going to take a bit of time. Despite the technology, sometimes it's NOT instantaneous. I've never really had any problem with it myself. I do wish it provided more engine/fluid information however.
I get tired of the silly updates. You can only start one vehicle at a time.
And it takes forever.......
I start both my vehicles all the time with Ford Pass. That shouldn't be an issue. Every once in awhile it will lag and take a 2nd or 3rd time to start. I like Ford Pass, I have no issues with it. I'm just glad we don't get charged for the service.
Can my 2022 "mirror" my phone? I use android auto for waze.
I'm going on a long trip, can I play youtube on the monitor?
Our high school football team can play on my phone, it would be cool on the monitor.
My 21 supports android auto over USB. Have you tried plugging it in yet? No on the mirrorlink/youtube. You'd need something aftermarket for that. I think they masquerade as apple carplay to the vehicle, but then presents itself as mirrorlink to the phone.
