High pressure oil problems

I’ve got a 2004 6.0 excursion had the famous hot crank no start so I replaced all the o rings in the high pressure system including ball tubes and all the o rings on the dummy plugs but the kit I had didn’t include the o rings for the dummy plugs but we have tons of o rings at our shop so I matched some up and put on them and I also didn’t do injector o rings. Now I got it back together enough to try and start it and I had 2 odd things first off it reads 38 psi of oil pressure before I even start cranking it then it slowly builds up to 128 psi and immediately dives right back down to 40 and the highest I’ve seen since it did that was 42psi according to the dash I have full base oil pressure does it take forever for these to prime back up or did I blow an o ring or do I just need to pull it back apart and do the injector o rings? I hate pulling these injectors because those connectors are such a bitch. I’ll do whatever I gotta do I just need some direction on where to turn from here

They make a fitting with a hose that has an air fitting on it. You unscrew the ipr and screw in the fitting and put shop air in the rails. With both valve covers off you wait and listen for air leaks. That's the easiest way to find high pressure oil leaks.

For all your high pressure oil rail connections...Real Motorcraft o-rings only! Do not use anyone else's. Most every "kit" out there is using Chinese orings, and they are pure junk. I work on these engines. Take my advice or don't. It's your time and money. This same advice goes for the standpipes and dummy plugs as well.
