I have a 2000 F-250 7.3 and I want to upgrade or change the fender emblems but do something unique. I’ve seen people put the 11-16 powerstroke door emblems on the fenders, but what else can I use to cover the tab holes without filling them? I don’t really want to just put different F-250 emblems on. Will the 17-23 style powerstroke door emblems cover the tab holes? Also, any unique ideas for the tailgate emblem? Thanks if anyone has any input!
This is how the 11-16 style door emblems look on. I was told they’ll cover the holes. This is the placement of the holes This is one type I was considering This is my pickup
Tape over the holes and then cut out around the holes as tight as possible with a sharp razor, you only want to go through the tape, try not to go too deep into the paint. Rough up the holes with some rolled up finer grade sandpaper. Then carefully smear some body filler, or epoxy, into the hole and smooth it out. I try to get it ever so slightly concave so i can fill it with paint. If you can get to the inner fender and spread it out even better. Seeing how it's an already painted hole, which means it shouldn't rust, as long as you give the filler some texture to hold on to it shouldn't fall out. Remove the tape while the filler is still wet. Once it's dry touch up with paint and buff/polish by hand to blend in. It's not the right way to fill a hole, but I've done it when de-badging and it always lasted. I could always tell it was there, but most people never noticed it even if I pointed it out. Then you can put whatever emblem you want on there.
You could always sketch out an emblem design you like and have someone 3D print it.

speedfreak78, i like your explanation of filling the fender holes.
Do you happen to have any closeup pictures of said modification?
Thank you!
