If I dont drive the truck to work during the week and get it dirty, I only have a few bug splats to clean off before the Dunn show next weekend.

Everybody I have spoken to wants to go to the Dunn show, so I think that is where most will end up.
I have come across shows in Raleigh & Wake Forest also.
I did drive up to Raleigh to Char Grille a few weeks back but I dont know if I got the time wrong or they no longer had it when I went as no one was there.
It was nice to just get out and drive so I did not care they were not there but would have been nice to see others pride & joy.

This place is in Pikeville NC and despite the town name sounding like it is very far away, it's actually fairly close by - about 15 minutes from Princeton, or 15 minutes from Goldsboro (depending on which direction you approach it from). It seems most of the nicer inside cars are long gone and the place is all overgrown with nothing much but project cars sitting out in the grass and under trees, but it's open to anyone who wants to wander around, as long as arrangements are made with the current owner (he's the son of the original owner) to make sure the place is available.
Even though I don't have any specific to look for or even extra money to buy something I might like, I still think it would be a cool place to go check out. There's plenty of nearby choices to grab lunch during a visit.
I did see an add for that show and the Rebel and would have liked to seen it but with work and when it is on it dose not happen for that show

It would be nice to do a walk about there just to see what they still got, just hope I can do it with the crazy hours I work.
Last 3 days been starting at 3am 1 day and 2am the other two days and 4 days have been 12 hour days.
I get my monthly needle in the eye Friday and they try and give me Saturday off to heal and being I did not work last Sunday I may have to work this Sunday.

There is a Cars & Coffee in Clayton Saturday, are you planning to come to that? With nothing else going in the early afternoon it would only be a 30-40 minute ride from there out to Colliers. I am not sure if anybody else would want to come along but it would make for an interesting cruise for anyone wanting to walk around and check out cool old stuff.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

The wife is at a large event for the adaption group we are members of and will not be home till late so there is no one to let the dogs out.
I told her I would not be to late at the C & C and would let them out so will have to be another time.
I need to do my weekly trash run before the C & C outing and it opens at 8am.
What time are we meeting up in Clayton?

First hiccup; Andre's jack didn't have enough oil in it. I got about 5 pumps and maybe 1 inch of lift and that was it. So we had to empty out the back of his Explorer and get to the Ford jack with his spare tire kit, got that set up, and let Marc start jacking up the rear end.
Second hiccup; none of the spares we had worked! I had a Ford spare from my Mustang and 2 trailer spares, all of them would be 5x4.5 but would not fit the Barracuda. Wayne just shook his head and said "well Chrysler did dumb **** back then who knows what bolt pattern they used on this car!".
My idea was to put the bad tire on the front which is riding the dolly, and move the still-good-so-far front tire to the rear. Andre had some power steering fluid which we said was fine to use in the hydraulic jack, so we were able to jack up the front of the car to get that wheel off. We made the switch and the car was rolling good, I told Andre to go slow and take it easy but from where I was sitting in the back seat he was rolling at 70, and due to construction our lane had been repainted partially over the shoulder, so the right wheels are hitting the rumble strips every 3 seconds. Sure enough, that same rear tire had a failure after about 30 minutes and the Barracuda started wiggling around again.
So we pull off the interstate, by now we are in Chapel Hill, and start looking for a tire shop that is open on Sunday. Marc found one on his phone, Mr Tire, and we fought stop-n-go traffic to get there. I guess there was probably a game today there because traffic was crazy. Anyway we got to Mr Tire, and there is a hand written note on the door saying "temporarily closed". So I look at my phone and said I can see there is a Pep Boys 4 miles away which is open, so we're going to try to go there. Then along the way we pass a Jiffy Lube and it has a banner out front that brags "TIRES". I doubted if they actually sold tires and figured the sign was just a ruse to get people in for an oil change, but I called them anyway and the guy said "yes we sell tires". I said ok see you in 30 seconds and we pulled up. Well, it turns out they only have 12 tires, whatever size they feel is most common. When they say they sell tires, they mean you call them and say what size tires you want, they order them for you, and when the tires come in a few days later they call you and set up an appointment. Obviously no way for us to get a new 14 inch tire on the fly. But we asked him if he could take the 14 inch tire off my Mustang wheel and put it on the Plymouth wheel and he agreed to that. So $20 later we had the good tire on the Barracuda rim and ready to roll again.
After that it was pretty uneventful, Andre stayed under 65 and the car rolled pretty smoothly. We didn't get back to Benson until 5pm though, and we had left at 7:30am so that was a long day! But I already scoffed at Andre trying to talk to Marc into putting a 440 in the car and assured them I could get the Slant 6 running, so now my pride is at stake about whether or not she will run! lol. Hey I got my faith in the "leaning tower of power" those are known to be very durable engines. We'll find out in the day couple of days.
I also saw the Dodge tow truck episode; now at the end of that episode he hooks the hitch up to an old Ford pickup and starts pulling it out, so the episode you mentioned must be the next one and maybe that's the truck he was about to start on?
Those two episodes, plus the AMC Rebel (which I think was said to be the final episode of the season) are the ones I have seen. Like you said maybe he will grow on me, certainly if there is nothing else on TV I will find myself watching it! haha
So with a 3/8 bolt in one hole and a 5/16 in the one directly across from it, I got the pry bar in and started wiggling a little. I didn't want to put a lot of force on it cause I know that 5/16 bolt might snap. But I think just kinda pushing back and forth for maybe 30 seconds and I saw it turn, so I knew it was freed up. Next up I figured let's use the starter to spin it, so we got some battery cables hooked up and Andre put a "known good" battery in the car. Nothing, barely a click. Andre says well lets go get a new starter, I said no way the starter is bad. Gotta be the battery. He put a charger on the battery and we gave it 5 minutes, tried again. Still no luck, but the electric "click" was definitely more pronounced - improving as we got more power. But he's not convinced, so in order to prove to me that the battery is good he gets a battery tester out. Hooks it up, shows a little over 12 and is in the "good" zone. So I said yeah looks good with no load, now load test it! So he clicked it on load and it went down to 5 volts, well into the "replace" zone. So we swapped it with another known-good battery from Andre's garage and yep, the old girl spun over as easy as pie!
Now we disconnected all the fuel lines and put some new hose in place to run from pump to carb, and from gas can to pump, so we would use fresh gas from a lawnmower can. Well we tried a couple of times and got nowhere, she was not firing. It was getting late in the evening so we called it a day. I told Andre we probably need to file those points, after sitting so many years I am sure not making good contact. Next time I came over, Andre had put in new points. He showed me the old set, not just worn or burned, but actually cracked and 1/2 of one of the contacts missing. So getting a new set of points with a new condensor was the right way to go, and he put on a new cap and rotor too. Then I suggested we try to start it using the key, rather than jumping the solenoid (which is what we were doing the day before) because off the key, you get 12v to the coil, but in the on position jumping the solenoid you only get 8v. So he got in and hit the key she fired right up! Video is only 11 seconds long, after I stopped recording it only ran 2 or 3 more seconds before gas started coming out the top of the carb, so I know the float is stuck.
But here is what I take away from all this. In my opinion, Andre owes me $3
Me: "I betcha a dollar we will be changing tires on the way home"
Andre: "That motor is locked up tight, you ain't gonna be able to turn it over"
Me: "Bet ya a dollar I have this thing spinning before the the end of the day"
Andre: "That starter is no good, I guarantee it!"
Me: "I bet $1 you that starter is fine, once you put a good battery on it!"
Here is the slant 6 running:
