Oil Leak
2003 F150 with 5.4 Engine. Anyone hear of a head gasket leaking oil. Just got my truck back from a local shop, tech poured in some dye that should show up under a light to make it easier to find the leak. I figured Valve Cover Gasket, cuz you can smell oil dripping down on the hot exhaust, but he said corner of the head and block. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

My local Ford shop told me 7 years ago my head gasket was bad. Only time I have had to put antifreeze in it is the 2 times it has been flushed since they told me.
But yes it can leak oil. I would clean it real good and watch and look for myself before believing a shop.

Very common on early 5.4, your engine might of been swapped or an earlier one, my Excursion had this problem, got to the point it started to pressurize the colling system, took the heads off, freshen them up, new gaskets and the engine has been good, that was 5 years ago.
