Before I parked my 49 F6 Graindump I had a master-cylinder bleed-down problem which I *think* was going *into* the vacuum booster because I never saw any fluid on the ground anywhere. 6 years ago I found links on here to sources for replacement vacuum units, but can't seem to find anything this time around?
I'm trying to get this good ole girl back on the road and into someone else's hands... this is something of a critical issue (though low gear in low range rear end will bring it to near stop pretty quickly!).
The Cardone 51-8026 (Midland C462) is what I used on my stock F6 to replace the seemingly unserviceable (no parts) Midland C477. In the past decade, the Midland C462 brake boosters have been becoming harder to find. I've previously listed possibilities here:https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post19154976
If you are looking for the Bendix style, see this thread and look for a Cardone 51-8056 booster:
The smaller trucks like the F-4 and F-5 we're not always equipped with a booster, and so it is technically possible to bypass it on the identical designed F-6 (at your own risk for all the lawyers out there). Just get a short brake line and connect the to booster to the from booster on your manifold.
Hopefully this information gets a conversation going to get your truck moving and stopping again.
