yeah, yeah i know, another FM question....but i need some opinions. i ordered a single inlet, dual outlet for my 95 f150 (5.8L), and i was just gonna run it from the first cat back and finish it with 3.5" x 12" tips. anyway, i went around to our local muffler shops and one of them said that after about 5 or 6 months, FM's get a vibration to them, which goes into the chassis and u get a bad "vibration" in the cab. has anyone ever heard this or had this happen??? also how do u guys like your flowmasters?? thanx alot everybody.
my friend has had flowmaster cat back dual exhaust with the same tips you have. he has had it on his bronco for about 2 years now and has had no problems with it
I think the mechanic was mistaken. The only real drawback to Flowmasters are the interior resonance that they produce. After the initial break in period, the interior resonance can increase (personal experience). That is probably what he meant. If not, he has no idea what hes talking about.
yeah i have a 429 thats built up and i have 40 series delta flows on it and its dumped right in front of the rear axle with 12 tips ..and at idle if your sitting inside its sounds like you have a system thats beating to the lobe of the engine ..but i love them... they sound great ...also to cut down on it vibration make sure the exhaust exits the vehicle ...too ..
that fm drone got to me on my old truck, man on the interstate it gave me headaches. woa-woa-woa-woa-woa for hours....i dont miss it at all, couldnt hear my stereo either
again id just like to say thanx to everybody. i got the money to get my exhaust redone, so in about 20 days or so i am planning on taking it in and having the FM put on. first i have to order tips. i decided to go with Magnaflow Stainless Steel 15degree Rolled edge tips, 3.5"x18". this is gonna sound friggin sweet imo.
