I drive a Bronco but my father owns a 2000 f-250 V-10. He bought it a year used and was never told the gear ratio. Is ther a way to find out? Is it tagged on the truck somewhere?
look at the tag on the rear end.......
it will have a few numbers and letters on the upper row and the on the bottom row the first numbers will look something like this
3L73 8.8
3L73 10.25
3 55 9.75
and so on and so on
the first set of numbers is the rear end ratio
the second set is the size of the rear end
The "L" is if you have a traction lock or not......if you don't it will be a blank space
usually the first number is kinda hidden by the bolt that holds it on
so if you only make out like "L10" or something like that you'll have a locker with 4.10's
and so on and so on
hope this helps.........might have been over kill though
