Update: I go out the next morning to the truck to again have a no crank situation. The new Auto Zone solenoid wouldn't crank the starter when I touch the small solenoid lug to battery positive. I put the old, OEM Ford solenoid back in and it cranked and fired right up. I just tried it again this morning and again fired right up.
I replaced this OEM solenoid as a prophylactic measure, given the it's likely original to the truck, without testing it thoroughly. I'm leaning to all OEM parts from here on out.
Auto Zone solenoid is going back to the store, and I'll pick up the upper radiator hose that routes around the serpentine belt.
