Leaking Injector

Howdy folks.
I have a 2001 f250 7.3 bone stock 550xxx miles.
Runs like a dream except at idle. I am pretty sure I have a leaking injector. Starts clear then after about 20 seconds starts white diesel smoke and a hell of a lot of it.
At idle it builds up. I punch it and it bogs down and blows hella white smoke then changes to black and starts haulin ***.
I have an AE with ford package. I know how to use it. I do not understand the data it presents to me.
Only codes it is throwing are "intake air heater" which I have a bad relay on but its been like that for at least 10 years and not been a problem
and its throwing and exhaust back pressure code which I cant really sort out.
also...cel stays on except when I back off the accelerator after a hard push then the light goes off until I accelerate again.
I know how to ohm the 42 and the uvch which I learned years ago on this forum. Everything seems to check out.
I have shimmed these injectors twice. I have put orings on them about every 2 years...the cheap ones.
If someone could sorta lead me down the proper diagnostic path, I would greatly appreciate it.
I just am not sure how to isolate the problem injector.

That's what I was thinking. Quit trying to flog a dead horse and just go get some new ones.
We'll see if he comes back to check on his thread or not.

I'll ask my favourite question:

Have you changed also the internal injector orings?

x3 for new injectors.

If I was brave enough, changing internal o-rings is something I’d like to try, and compare before and after ICP. But I am not brave…

Doubt he'll be back.

Maybe the next time I have a Corvette engine specific question I'll just post in any ol subcategory somewhere on a Chevy forum. Then I'll insult the forum when no one knowledgeable stumbles across it in the wrong section and tell the members I'm going to a forum dedicated to that specific engine platform....

Fix **** that ain't broke... That's your solution...
I don't fix unbroken ****.
I asked how to isolate the bad injector
By your logic, if the headlight goes out I should replace the truck.
Super helpful.
Great forum

no, I have not.
I would like to try.
Just bought a 81 f150 to bum around I'm while I tear down the power stroke.
I just wanted to isolate which injector was the problem.
Apparently though, the best solution from this forum is just to start throwing $1000s of dollars worth of parts at it or just pull the fuel cap and replace the truck.

We'll see if he comes back to check on his thread or not.
Here I amThrow parts at it.
Got it.
In other words, you have no idea how to isolate a faulty injector.
Super helpful.
Thanks for the stellar comment.

doing internal seals and nothing else is a good way to waste a $1,000 of ones time and have it run worse.
500+k is nothing to complain about. Replace worn out parts with fresh good quality parts, and keep on trucking.
