Any way to get real time OBD1 info on a phone app?

That would be interesting if you could do a smartphone app for OBD1 with the Ford EEC-IV, but I think new with old technology would be almost impossible. It's like MS-DOS with our Windows 11, lots of differences.

I'm sure it's possible but it would take a good amount of research and development, trials and errors.

With On-Board Diagnostics first generation(OBD1) in our Ford EEC-IVs, the data is retrieved using the Ford Motor Company Data Communications Link (DCL) protocol.
The DCL can communicate on a universal asynchronous receive/transmit(UART) data bus. The UART could then be connected via BlueTooth or USB to whatever device.
This is what ForDiag does. There is both hardware versions available: BlueTooth or USB.
The software is only for Windows, not available on an app.

Creating a mobile app could be possible, would need hardware, firmware and software.
There are a few projects with opensource hardware ideas using arduino and atmel/avr microchips that do work.
There are also a few projects with opensource frontends that work.

I do not think there is a demand for this stuff.

When I want real time data, I load my QuarterHorse, open up TunerPro on my laptop, and there we go, full screen dashboard.

a smart phone would not be very helpful to be viewing the data in my opinion

What kind of refresh rate is on eec-iv? I know GM aldl obd1 was update per second , so live data is often disappointing to people
