Headers

Does anybody recognize these headers. The price is right but the lady doesn’t know anything about them other than they came from a Mustang and they are for at 302. I have a 351W so they will bolt up just fine just not sure if they will fit in my 53 m100 with the MII

They look familiar and similar to a set I had on my 83 5.0 from Hedman. Personally, I would pass, for several reasons.

From those pics, they look like they may be large tube headers made for high rpm, big compression engines. Unless you've got a HP engine and are doing competitive drag racing, those wouldn't be good on a street truck.

The way the number 6 tube crosses over tightly in front of the spark plugs on the rest of the cylinders on the left bank will make service a miserable chore, and likely use up several sets of plug wires before scrapping them. (I had a giant dimple in that tube in front of the number 6 and 7 spark plugs for that reason, and mine weren't fat tubes)

All these things are bad enough, but again, look close at the pics. It appears they have silicone sealer slobbed all over at the collector joints and exhaust leak blackening. You don't want to go there and deal with that hassle. My 2c.

Another thing to be aware of...while the 302 and 351W SBF heads have the same bolt pattern, the deck height on the 351W is taller. Not sure how critical it is on these headers but I have run into some block huggers where the 351W version would hit the block when bolted to a 302.
