Need Some help. 08 F250. Anyone know which bed bolts go in which location? I bought this bed bolt kit from Ford and it comes with six bolts not eight. It even says it’s for super duties. Here’s the directions that come with the kit only showing six bolt locations. Which two bolts am I missing and where do they go? Thanks
If the bed has 8 bolts you got the wrong kit. Late 08 beds had 8 bolts, all the same length. If just the 6, if you are taking out the old bolts, just match them up, if not, you will need to go under the truck with a tape measure at each location and find where the distance between bed floor and frame is shortest, and if you look at the two long ones, the diameter of the shank at the head should be visible on the bed itself.
I think that kit is for 99-01 beds, and Ford went to 8 bed bolts in 02 and up.

thanks. Yes I’m beginning to see they went from 6 to 8. I’m putting a bed on a truck that does not have one so I don’t have old hardware to go from. If the size of the holes in the bed corresponds with the shanks on the bolt then it should be pretty simple. Thanks again
If I remember correctly it goes from the back of the box forward, long, short, long, long. You can also use the newer 2017 bolts (just the bolts not the nuts) and get 8 of the shorter ones which are cheaper than the 08 ones.

Everyone seems to have a different idea about this. Even the Ford dealer, the guys in service couldn’t even tell me. Sad
Look at the frame. There are large holes where each clip goes. If the frame is level from the front hole to the back hole, then all bolts are the same length. Only reason for a shorter bolt is if the frame humps in one section like over the rear axle.
The large round holes are where the bed bolt clips go. two at the very back, two at the very front by the cab, and then one on either side of the hump with two holes, which is for the 5th wheel prep. There really isn't much different between the 08 frame and 12 frame. Other than body lines, a bed from a 99 can fit on a 16 and other way around.
