That is not promising news at all.
My truck status is "built," but I am skeptical. Supposedly, its been "In Transit" and sitting at Ramp 8P since 8/3.
I wonder how many of the trucks sitting in parking lots are classified as In Production, Built, In Transit, etc.
I find headlines including "Visible From Space" amusing. If the CIA can read a car's license place from a satellite, I think they'll be able to see a parking lot. I doubt that the pile of cars is so large that you could see it with the naked eye from 50 miles away (distance to space).
I was lucky to receive my truck before Ford started shutting down their plants. But all wasn’t perfect, as a price adjustment added $1k to my sticker price right before I took possession.
If I was waiting for an order right now, I would not only be eagerly waiting for Ford to get parts to complete my truck, but I would be biting my nails over the possible price hikes Ford could command as a result of the parts shortage.
All the talk about the use car market bubble about to burst…. I don’t think that’s going to apply to SD Ford Trucks for a long long time. MSRP - on 22’s has jumped dramatically over the model year. I can’t wait to see pricing on the 23’s…. Yikes. Good used Super Duty’s are just going to become more valuable.
Turns out, purchasing an early MY 22 was a WAY better investment than the stock market!
Plus it's ~104 miles round trip from KTP to Kentucky Speedway. I've read they are not trucking them there but are being driven individually. Curious if they'll reset the odometers to zero when they run them through final rolls testing when they are finally deemed fully salable and ready to go to dealers???
Supposedly my truck is one of those sitting there, built but not complete due to chip shortage. It’s been 34 days since it’s status moved to “In production,” and shortly thereafter I received the “We’ll provide an update within 45 days e-mail.”

This has been covered many times here and on Blue Oval. Ford locks the dealer's price at the time your order is placed. Your price is also locked if you have a signed order with the agreed upon price. Any price increases after that are BS and you got suckered.
