Hello all, i own a 1979 ford f250 and would like to lift it slightly about 2-2.5 " front and back. IT IS A rwd Truck and has independant front suspension. from what i can tell after removing the stock coils ( as well as the shocks) putting in tall coils would affect the camber and make it worse. like i said i only want about 2" of lift. i have already bought 2" blocks for the rear. I also forgot to mention it has a 4.9l straight 6 (300 cid). what can i do to get lift but still have good camber?. i also plan to put 33 inch tires with 17 or possibly 18" rims on it.
A very good point, it you want the "look" of a 4wd then just buy one, and get on down the road. If you want a 2wd prerunner look/performance with lots of front suspension flex, get the big money kit and have at it.
I thought camber wasn't really an issue until you went over 2"?
If you're a competent welder, or know one, you can cut, bend, weld and plate the stock beams to correct the camber. That's how it was done before aftermarket arms were available.
Are your I -beams the ones that you can bend? That is how they aligned them in those days. Will be hard to find a place that still does it though. If the beams are not bendable, you might find an early 70's set and put on.

Not to sure. I’ll probably just buy slightly taller coil springs
