Ford financing

I'm Just curious about this. In march I bought a used Lexus from my local Ford dealer. He ran my financing through Ford and I got a letter from them saying " at this time we are unable to extend credit to you" Then it goes on to state that it is illeal to discriminate on age ,race etc. and should I wish to knowthe reason for turndown to notify them.Well I did so and never heard back. I then started E mailing them and i kept getting junk back such as go to your dealer and ask. I told them the dealer was not the one who turned me down it was Ford. My bank gave me credit without a hassle. Now I'm eighty years old and they can't convince me that is not the reason even though they state it is illegal to discriminate for age. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest and am curious if any others have had this problem. Ford just ignores me so I guess that's how they handle their problems.

If you really want to pursue this, then contact your state's attorney general office. If a financial institution has turned you down for credit, they MUST tell you why. If it involves something they found in your credit history, then they must provide you with a free copy of your credit file. Ford Credit does tend to live in their own little world, however. They regularly do things that NO ONE can explain.
