Hood hinge qquestion
For as long as I rememner the hood on my truck is very hard to lift.
I know its a heavy hood but is this normal ?

yes & maybe

most hinges can use a good clean & lube. Mine feels like 25# to start and holds up once open.

They are a large and heavy hood made out of real steel with a lot of reinforcement to prevent fluttering as you go down the road. My hood seems to get a pound or two heavier every year!

I think it feels heavier than that.

Maybe I am just getting weaker in my old age

Read up on them but the reproduced hinges have a spotty reputation about fit and use (I may be thinking about the slicks though)

This looks interesting just have to figure out what spring since he doesn't say.

If the hood is maintained by the springs in the open position they should be okay. In the shop manual you can adjust the spring to give it more tension if that is the problem. You can lubricate the pivot points of the hinge by spraying white lithium grease. That should help.
