Idle validation switch

Idle validation switch

I need an idle validation switch. I know they are difficult to find. Would anyone have a source? I can DIY it if I need too?

Thanks, but I'm not buying the entire assembly. Contact switches are 20 or 30 dollars.

...and as plentiful as unicorn milk. Good luck finding just the switch, seems to me it's been vapor for over 10 years. Perhaps a salvage yard?

The OEM switch is not the only contact switch made. Their are lots of them out there. They just require a little modding of the pedal bracket.

In my case, I already have the pedal assembly modded to fine tune each switch. Modding the pedal assembly to accept a slightly different switch is minor. But, I guess it's not for everyone.

Wire it closed . The TPS is a different switch .

Can that be done with no ill effects? I'm aware the TPS and IVS are separate units.

Several years ago, I searched and searched for the IVS part number. You can't find it by itself. Seems crazy that's the case and I didn't like buying the whole pedal assembly, but glad I did. If you can mod a switch to make it work that's great. For me, it was money well spent not having to deal with a dead pedal when you need to accelerate.

As you most likely know , the IVS is a throttle override switch . It tells the PCM that its you holding the pedal where it is and is not just stuck . Most any micro switch (NO IIRC) could be modified to work .

I just ordered one of these: EATON CUTLER HAMMER E47BMS04. It's very close to the OEM IVS and only $25.

Ford invested resources into incorporating an IVS. I have de***ted many things on my truck. The IVS will not be one of them.
