It would costs about 800 bucks for the nice precision fit Carhart covers or 1300 for Katskins Leather installed everywhere. I don't want to spend that much on covers, and with the seats being brand new there is no reason to do the leather switch right away. I am just looking for a seat cover for the drivers side of the front bench seat.
Any suggestions would be great. I am in construction so I am constantly covered in dirt/sweat.
Something I've done in the past to serve as a cheap seat cover for work is use a towel. Could poke holes in it to anchor to the head rest. I'm sure there are plenty of generic cheap seat covers that would fit too. Maybe check Costco.
Yea I've used towels, the cheap walmart/costco universal ones in current truck . I run through them pretty quick which is why I was considering the carhart, but then realized it makes more sense to just save that cash for the leather swap after 50k miles when I've worn in the seats a little. Was hoping someone might have used something in the middle ground.

Definitely a logical way to look at it, especially if you view leather as better than cloth.
I went with the expensive precision fit seat covers because i do not view leather as a better option than cloth. Leather gets unpleasantly hot in North Carolina and I hate that feeling of bare skin sticking to the leather seats. However, cloth ain't perfect, it stains easy, the precision fit covers mitigate that issue as the canvas like material is not porous and is easy to clean.
Aries Seat Covers..
They just slip onto the back of the headrest
they are the Cats ***…. They work great for protection of the seat being made from a canvas top and rubberized bottom to keep them in place..
I went with Covercraft. Got the cheap version since my work is dirty and sweaty. Drivers side tends to shift around some but I'm in and out of the truck 15-20 times a day. They have held up for 2 years. Thrown them in the washing machine several times. Fit is pretty good and the grey matches good with my interior. Had the same brand in a 2005 F250 with a bench seat that held up very good.
Use the seat covers with the rubberized backing with caution. The rubber grabs the leather and causes more wear than no cover at all. It will stress the leather and pull on it when a heavy person sits down.
I do use a waterproof rubber backed cover for the seat my dog sits in. He is small so it is not an issue. And I use a towel under the cover to let the cover slide on the leather.

Looking for driver seat cover myself. Just looking for something I can throw on when my clothes are dirty. WHY in the world Fords only option for cloth seats in an XLT is light grey is beyond me. Would be nice to find a cover for the fold down console too.
How we’ll do the Aries covers fit? Do they pack down to a small size that’s easy to stow?
