Hot start issue
iI’s not EVERY time, but pretty regular.
The batteries are new and have been load tested.
The starter relay and ignition switch were replaced.
The starter and solenoid have been replaced.
Continuity of the battery cables has been checked.
SOMETIMES, I can cycle the gear selector, and it will start.
SOMETIMES, if I cycle the key a couple times quickly it will start.
But MOSTLY, I leave the key in the on position, separate a plug on the passenger fender and touch that plug to the battery and it cranks and starts.
Given everything that’s been done, and having looked at the starting circuit diagram, I believe the only thing left is the neutral safety switch or digital gear position sensor or whatever they call it.
Opinions?
Get out your multimeter and perform a voltage drop test on both positive and negative cables. Corrosion lives under the sheathing and can create a massive amount of resistance.
