I wonder how many 2005 F150 trucks had their bed rust through because of Ford's dumb or cheap idea? At the front right corner, above the muffler Ford fastened a piece of insulation to the bottom side of the bed. I now have a hole because of moisture trapped there over the years. Thinking of removing it and fastening a piece of flat galvanized steel from the front bed support to the next bed support. That would give a good air space between the bed underside and the piece I would install. It would act as a heat shield for the muffler and would not trap moisture. Anyone else have this problem? Other ideas?
