Hi everyone. I have looked all over the web for spindle arms for my truck. I bought the truck to rebuild with my son since is coming up on his teenage years. Problem is i am able to find every part known to man except the spindle arms. I found 1 side on ebay for 150$. I do not understand why this piece is so hard to find. All other steering components are readily available. Am I using the wrong terminology for what I am looking for.
Those are spindle arms - that's what Ford called them. The one on eBay is listed as NOS - meaning Ford made that part - probably at least 40 years ago. If you aren't finding any others then it's likely nobody is reproducing that part yet. It's a low wear part meaning old ones from used trucks should normally be in good enough condition to reuse. In 1966 for some of the F250s, but not the F100, Ford make the arms part of the spindle assembly. If you needed a new arm, then you had to buy the whole schmeal.
Im in midlothian va. Yes they are totally missing. I saw some disk brake coversionthat its all one piece of the spindle. Yes just the arms are missing. I have a 63 parts f100 but not sure if they would be the same?
I have a pair of them Unfortunately one is still on the spindle and the bolts are rusted solid, but with a little beating and banging I can get it off. But before you get too deep into buying parts you need to make sure your hubs are 100% in good shape because those things are getting very hard to find. I sold the only two I had a long time ago. Also, if you are thinking disc brakes now is the time to do it. Any F100 or F150 up to 1979 is a bolt in deal. 1963 suspension parts won't work on a 65. If you think you want these PM me and I will start trying to get them off. If you are considering disc's call this place, they say they have a 1976 it looks like a disc brake truck in the pictures. Thank you so much for the information its most appreciated. I will get back with you no need in tearing up your stuff. Im gonna read the sites you recommended when i get back home. I really do like the thought of disk brake conversion. I will reach out to oakhill awesome. Again thanks for all the information it’s most appreciated i was pulling my hair out.
I just picked that yard because it is closest to you. Shipping "I" beams and spindles would be very costly. Thats something you need to just go get. But there are others within driving distance if that place doesn't work out.
