This problem has me stumped. I did a EGR cooler replacement on a Ford 6.0. Once complete I started the truck and it ran fine for the first minute then the injectors went crazy. RPM climbed up. shut truck off and restarted again runs fine for a minute then same thing happens. hooked scan tool to truck and I am finding the ICP pressure continues to climb once engine is started gets to about 1000 psi and that when it goes nut on me. PMC asking for about 580 psi and at start up that's where it starts but slowly climbs. till i lose control of injector oil pressure. Here's where the problem get strange once truck gets to temp it run's fine ICP following the PCM and all works fine from there. only having problem when its a cold start. Is there a chance its an intake leak or the IPR not working right doesn't make sense to me why it goes away once truck is warm. Also installed a new ICP sensor because that's the code p2284 it throws till it warms up.

Reason: fix typo
Typically an oil leak will result in a low ICP pressure, I don't know if I've seen a high ICP issue. What is the IPR valve % when this is happening? That would help you narrow it down to where the issue is occurring.
With an EGR replacement I assume you pulled the turbo and intake manifold along with the various wiring harnesses. I'm guessing you've got a loose connection somewhere. IPR valve would be the primary culprit with ICP issues. Its in the back of the valley under the turbo. The wiring harness has heat shielding. There is also a ground wire that is part of that harness that needs to be attached to the intake manifold over by the FICM.
yes pulled intake and turbo along with wiring harness for injectors also unplugged IPR I did reattach ground next to FICM and double checked the IPR was plugged in. I even unplugged and replaced it just to make sure.I got lucky the ICP was on vavle cover that was easy to change. I didnt check IPR % but will try seeing what it's doing to. Also I had to remove oil filter housing. could it be that there's air in the high side oil system.

Air would typically give you low ICP pressure not high. You didn't break into the High pressure oil system so you shouldn't have any air.
You said a new ICP sensor? I'm wondering if you've got a bad one out of the box. Reinstall the old one and see if she runs different? That's an easy one to check.
Where did get you get the ICP sensor? Generally we've found most aftermarket sensors, especially from Amazon and eBay are junk, best to stick with OEM.
Here's an update on where I am at I changed ICP due to the P2284 code I was getting. I put scan tool back on truck and at startup the IPR was running 35% ICP 820 psi and pcm asking for same. truck again started running crappy so I ran test on IPR as I bought up and lowered the IPR it seem to be working. stopped test and the truck died. now at a no code no start. Installed new IPR still no start. Then all of the sudden after cranking a very long time it started to fire off. now it runs like a top. so at this point I have no clue what the problem was. as it started to fire acted like it ran out of fuel. cleared up and has no issues now so I am guessing maybe air in oil system or air lock in fuel system.
