My son has a T170 (TOD I believe) transmission in his 76 F100. He was out driving yesterday, came home and parked the truck. He went back out a little later and now his trans will only go in to reverse. That's the only movement it will make. If you try to shift in to any other gear, the shift lever won't move. Any ideas? Thanks!
Have you looked at the shifter linkage? Maybe you will get lucky and something else has come loose that is physically stopping the shifter from moving that direction. I would check that from top to bottom first since its free.
